Hi guys:)
You know my quest to turn my HTC Desire as much into a Nexus One as possible right?
Well I just got a bit further doing that:)
I am sorry by the way, me going on and on about Android and HTC Desire, But that is what is taking up much of my time now, modding my phone, and I just want to share it with you guys in case you got a HTC Desire so you don´t have to wonder how to do this and that.
While I am trying to transform my HTC Desire into a Nexus One I am spending quite a bit of time over at the MoDaCo forums.
Anyway I found something over there on how to do it, you can read what is needed here it does require either a Linux machine or the root explorer app from android market which is at just £2.50 but hey, if you buy the app, like I did, you´ll be taking part in the paid app pledge which is a good thing:) since I got access I am afraid I spend maybe a bit too much buying apps, it´s easy to get carried away. But anyway if you spend it, it´ll work for the purpose:=) and you´ll be able to change your boot animation anytime you want:)
It does require a rooted phone, so if you haven´t already go root:) keep in mind that rooting will void warrenty though, but it does give you quite a bit of options rooting your phone. Like this for instance:)
When you boot the Desire next after doing this, you will see the HTC logo, which I thought ment my modding had failed. But it turns out, that the standard “quietly brilliant” text appearing below the HTC logo was the boot animation, where at first I presumed it to be the whole thing that was the boot animation.
Now after that nexus one boot screen will appear.
Enjoy folks:)
